SEOUL, Tues: The Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg today began his itinerary on the first day of his two-day working visit here with a meeting with the Korea Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy ( MOTIE).
Various aspects of collaboration between South Korea and Sarawak governments were discussed to enhance cooperation between Korean entities and Sarawak in the renewable energy space.
Representating the Korean government was MOTIE Deputy Minister, Lee Hohyeon.
Accompanying the Premier at the one-hour meeting were the Minister of Utilities and Communications, Dato Sri Haji Julaihi bin Haji Narawi, Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Dr. Hazland bin Abang Hipni and Chairman of SEDC, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Abdul Aziz bin Hussain.
Later, in the afternoon the Premier and members of his entourage were taken on a conducted tour of the Korea South-East Power Company (KOEN) Yongheung power plant in the Yongheung island South of the capital city.
